I've been listening to US history and race and civil rights era documentaries and stuff lately, and greatly wanted to do a more serious Black History Month piece.
This study was done on just three layers with the Steve Ahn's Ultimate Brush, flat opacity, so there's not much more behind the scenes to make it plain, but I did blur a bit above these base layers (foreground, middleground, background) and add some noise and a gradient map to make it look a little more like the still from the Malcolm X documentary where I observed him and Martin Luther King, Jr. in the same room!
